Insull Faces Fraud Case In Court Over Empire Collapse

Gas Cigarette Taxes Update From South Dakota Treasurers

South Dakota State Treasurer C Siewert reported September revenue from gasoline and cigarette taxes. Gas tax totaled 381,982.58 versus 986,309,833 last September. cigarette tax 34,997.21 versus 30,435 last year. Year to date through September gas tax receipts reached 2,844,033.88, slightly above 2,824,978.07 for the same period in 293. Beer revenue for September could not be compared due to data gaps.

Rural Credit Bond Payments Reported by State Treasurer

Pierre October 2 reports show 200000 principal and 131375 interest paid on South Dakota rural credit bonds as of October 1 reducing outstanding bonds to 38469001. Also note a 3800000 Reconstruction Finance Corporation loan and 8200 interest on cement plant bonds. Treasurer predicts income will cover remaining 1834 payments. a 500000 rural credit bond payment is due December 1 with interest until January 1 totaling 32496815.

Shoplifters Take Furs in Sioux Falls Crime

Sioux Falls police disclosed a gang of expert shoplifters stole furs worth 1790 from two stores last week. Wermuth Fur Co. lost three coats valued 995 and Fantles store three coats worth 795. No thieves seen and losses discovered hours after. A statewide merchant warning was issued.

Allot Loans for Public Works in 17 States

Public Works Administration allotted 3,892,700 for 25 non federal projects across 17 states on October 24. Notable allocations include South Dakota projects in Spencer for water works at 32,000 and Martin for water supply at 37,000, both loan and grant packages.
