Slaying Mystery Takes New Angle in Pennsylvania

In Duncansville PA on November 26 two more mysterious figures, both men, entered a real life death drama involving a man, a woman, and three blond children. Bus drivers Williams and White linked the group to rides from New York to Harrisburg with sightings by witnesses. Police pursued multiple theories as crowds viewed two corpses in an undertaking parlor and the fate of the five victims remained undisclosed.

Priest And Bride Shot By Husband In New Jersey

A New Jersey murder case unfolds as Rev. Joseph J. Leonard 40 and bride Ruth Tiles Armstron g 21 are shot dead by husband Joseph L. Steinmetz 22 on a hotel honeymoon. Steinmetz allegedly confessed claiming he shot them after discovering their meeting with the priest for confession. Steinmetz, an immigrant from Bucharest, and Miss Armstrong married in Tijuana November 10 and honeymooned in New York. The couple had registered at a Knights of Columbus hotel in New York and later joined the priest for meals and drinks before the fatal events. Steinmetz will be arraigned on homicide charges as the district attorney cites his statements.

Escaped Madison County Jail Trio Nabbed in Pulaski Tennessee

Three of six prisoners who fled Madison county jail were captured in Pulaski Tennessee after forcing a filling station employee to drive them away. They overpowered the jailer and a guard, seized weapons, and climbed a 14 foot fence before escaping. Officers race toward Pulaski to recover others.

Lydia Leistikow of Aberdeen was elected president of the Elementary Principals and Supervisors at their banquet meeting Monday night at the Presbyterian church. Other officers named included Vice President Mayme Stapleton of Sioux Falls and Secretary Dorothy Peterson of Watertown. NEA announcements were made by Lydia Leistikow.
