Lewin Henrickson a 10 year old from Fort Pierre has earned the state garden club champion title. He reported a 3 gross income of 44.40 from a 33 square foot plot and will compete in a national garden club contest for 300 and 200 scholarships offered by S L Allen and Company Philadelphia. The eighth annual 4 H club congress in Chicago November 29 to December 6 will judge records with 40 state champions competing. He received a Planet Jr combination feeder and wheel hoe for his win and showed his products at community county and state exhibits this year.

Lucile Kezar and Dorothy Arthur led a Shoes for Health demonstration at the Merry Maids 4-H club meeting in Mellette on November 9 at Sc ott Litzkow home. Topics covered good and bad shoes proper fit foot care and strengthening exercises. Loy ola LittoW was chosen to assign Mrs Tollefson. Edith Forsyte Nila Kutsner Dorothy Arthurs Leota Lilskow and Ruth Burt attended. The next meeting will be at the Ray Burt home with Ruth and Evelyn Burt presenting.

The boys W club of Wessington held initiation Friday evening. Seven new members were entered two track men and five football men Walter Canle won a letter in football and in track Ed Shaw won a letter in track CG Larsen G Wranklin I Paulsen D Bowen and F Canady won letters in football.
