Miss Helen Gardner, who studied voice in Berlin nine years, says German musical education has suffered from the war and prewar years. Few German students remain. foreign students left as politics worsened. Arts are curtailed by compulsory service and youth organizations. Painting is used as propaganda. inspectors review brushes weekly. Gardner’s planned Neu Strelitz opera contract was canceled. she is visiting Huron and will give a concert on November 34.
