Fix Prices for Farm Products Proposed at Mitchell Meeting
Harry Brownell of Sioux Falls urged fixing farm prices for domestic use at a South Dakota chamber of commerce session in Mitchell. He argued high farm prices could revive industry and employ millions, linking farm prices to wholesale manufactured goods in a controlled domestic market. He warned against tariffs and market forces unless tariffs and competition were removed, saying the farmer needs protected buying power to compete with manufactured goods.
