Armistice Day events set for Friday morning in the St Lawrence high school gymnasium. Sponsored by the American Legion the Auxiliary and the St Lawrence school the program features an Armistice address After Munich What by Rev J E Robinson of the Congregational Church at Hedfield with recitations and musical numbers Admission is free and all are invited to attend.

Superintendent Dirksen will introduce him. The program includes two numbers by the Girls Glee Club directed by Donald Stroh. They sing Thanks Be To God and Memories. Public invited. The Rev. Mr. Christiansen of Hetland will give the Armistice Day address at a program sponsored by the Americana Legion Auxiliary in Erwin Friday at 8 o clock. The Erwin high school band plays, Marian Anderson offers a piano solo, Ruby and Jean Larson sing as does the high school frep club, with the address to follow and the Star Spangled Banner and pledge closing the event.
At St Lawrence, nine contestants competed in the declamation elimination. Judges Basward, Austin, and Lown lace selected Carelyn Lake for Far Horizon in oratory, Anita Gambile for Brothers Boreft in humor, Gazelle Blanchard for Nocturne in drama, and Lorraine McPhail for Hagar in poetry. The four winners advance to the district contest in Washington on November 17.
A Wellington public card party follows a business session this week. Nine games of contract bridge and five hundred were played with prizes awarded to Mrs Guy Major and Harry Esher in contract and to Mes John Meyer and Ed Shaw in five hundred. A luncheon was served by the November committee.
