Grain Co op Formed For Northwest Grain Agency

The Cooperative Farmers Northwest Grain corporation was organized at Binnavolis with capital of 6,006,000 to be owned by the Palmer Elevator and Grain Pool associations of Minnesota Dakota and Montana and operate as the agency for the National Grain corporation in four states. The National Grain corporation was created under the Farm Board to finance farmer owned cooperatives nationwide and to market grain for them. The Farm Board and Chairman Alexander Legin announced approval of the plan ten days earlier in Chicago. The Northwest agency formation was approved by 53 members of the organization committee at a September meeting, with officers and directors of the Cooperative Farmers Northwest Grain corporation forming most of the board. Hats Tol-Jef Midbo of Hatson, N.O., represented the Farmers Grain Delivery association of North Dakota.

Artas Robber Gets 13 Years In Prison

Philip Hansen a 26 year old farmer bandit was sentenced to 12 years in the state penitentiary by Judge J H Bottom after confessing to the robbery of the state ants cut nearly 1000 dollars. Mundt Campbell county state attorney and a signed confession were part of the proceedings. Hansen was arrested Friday morning after his car stalled near the robbery scene.

St Joseph Dentist Fined for Pheasant Violation

Dr Thomas J McGill of St Joseph Mo, a dentist, was fined 1000 for possessing 20 pheasants beyond the legal limit. Deputy Warden Hawley arrested him here after hunting since the season opened. Justice A L Kinkead imposed the maximum fine following a request by Assistant States Attorney Leo Temmer.

Highmore Dentist Elected President

Dr. F. M. Matteson of Highmore was elected president of the Chica District Dental Society at the annual convention held Monday. Dr. Jay Splak of Huron was re-elected vice president, and Dr. HL A Johnson of Huron was re-elected secretary.

Reward Offered by South Dakota Bankers for Robbers

The South Dakota Bankers Protective Committee approved a $1,000 reward for the capture of robbers or burglars targeting member banks. Rewards pay upon conviction, with apportionment if multiple suspects, and not for investigators. Expires August 1, 1936.

Irene Castle Injured in Hunt Fall in Chicago

CHICAGO, Nov. 5. Pi-Col. Noble Brandon Judah, former ambassador to Cuba, and Mrs. Frederick McLaughlin were injured Sunday while riding to hounds in the Onwentsia fox hunt. Mrs. McLaughlin suffered a broken rib. Judah’s horse threw him and he was found unconscious, to be hospitalized for several days. Both have a history of prior falls.

Fair Board Reorganizes At South Dakota State Fair

South Dakota State Fair officials meet in Huron for annual reorganization led by President Thomas J. Frick of Yankton.
