Parties Rally in Huron Beadle County Ahead of Election

In a heated canvass climax, both parties stage rallies across Huron and Beadle county as voters head to Tuesday elections. Republican leaders headline in Daum's auditorium while Democrat figures speak at the Masonic Temple. Plans for Luther Day November 11 at Huron College chapel Voorhees Hall unite Lutheran congregations from Wolsey Yale and Huron in services. The Huron merchants style show grows under Byron McElligott. County Office Races Stir Beadle County Election Push

With incumbents limited to four years many offices change hands including sheriff, treasurer and county judge. A and P Labor Row Ends With Settlement at Cleveland Stores

The labor relations board announced a settlement between Atlantic and Pacific Tea and the unions over the Cleveland stores dispute. Stores will reopen after a week’s closure, with all employees rehired without discrimination and future disputes to go to arbitration. Unions agree not to strike before June 16.

New Water Facilities Under Way In Huron

L P Madsen announced the citys new water plant is nearly ready with all pipes laid to the well site five miles west. Three wells will be completed and operating in about two weeks with water flowing by mid month and artesian supply turning off by November 15. A $384 bid was let for wiring. water for sprinkling will be allowed Monday Wednesday and Friday 1 to 6 pm next week.

Mrs Carl Blote of Manchester Dies in Huron Hospital

Mrs Carl Blote of Manchester died in a Huron hospital at two o'clock this morning. She is survived by her husband and six children. Funeral services will be held at Manchester at two o'clock Monday afternoon.

Eureka Woman Dies After Car Collision Near Elk Point

Miss Albert Schultz of Eureka, 30, died from injuries after a Friday crash on Federal Highway 77 seven miles northwest of Elk Point. Her husband, Mr. Schultz, a government hay buyer, survived with minor injuries along with Mark Finney of Alcester, who works in the relief office.
