Engineer Drops Dead as He Stops Train at Ellis

Salina Kans May 27 engineer Francis Patterson 57 collapsed at the throttle as his Union Pacific passenger train halted at Ellis Kan from a heart attack. Curfew goes into effect in Gibraltar starting tomorrow barring civilians except soldiers and mail carriers from 12:39 p.m. to 9:30 a.m with permits required.

Huron Plans Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Rites

Huron will observe Memorial Day with an outdoor program in J. W. Campbell Park featuring an address by City Attorney George L. Longstaff, a parade, and services at Riverside and St. Martin's cemeteries. The observance is organized by a committee including W. L. Weir of the American Legion and Wayne Wilson of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. All retail stores will close for the day. banks and public offices will also be affected.
