Marjorie Stout, a second grader at Wilson, suffered a severe eye injury when a stone launched from a boy's slingshot struck her as she picked up a fallen flower during Huron college May Fete last night. Doctors said the eye will be saved and vision probably intact. The boy's identity is unknown, and he was among several youths seen around the campus during the program. Mitchell Man Escapes Injury After Car Strikes Dip

In Pringhar Iowa on May 14 two people died and three others were injured when two cars collided head on near Primghar. The dead include Dudley Scott of Le Mara and Mrs Harold Rothschild of St Paul. April Report Shows Increase In Arrests Dry Law Breakers
Washington May 14 More arrests for liquor law violators than in any month this year and a decrease in court congestion are shown in the prohibition bureau monthly report for April. The summary reflects a trend toward shorter jail sentences and higher fines as cases are disposed of. April arrests totaled 5933, compared with 5273 in March, 184 in February, and 4500 in January. The ten month total reached 50801, 83 per cent above the monthly average for that period. Liquor cases pending in courts at end April numbered 21074, 474 less than March and 1670 higher than at the start of the year. Two-thirds of districts reported increased activity.
