WPA Rules Broken In South Dakota Case
Rep. Francis Case charged in the House that the Works Progress Administration in South Dakota failed to employ needy mothers of dependent children as required by the WPA appropriation. He urged a House investigation, noting mothers were removed from rolls two months ago and not restored though possibly eligible for aid or Social Security programs. Local funds are exhausted and WPA is said to be denying certification. The Union Federated Club met at Letha Perkins home in Highmore with papers on taxes and ancient pottery, games, and refreshments.
