State Provides Special Form For Farm Taxpayers
South Dakota offers a special form for farmers to file 1942 net income tax returns with a schedule of farm income and expenses. Tax Director J H Bottum says the form is a yellow attachment available at banks or the county auditor, or by writing to the state tax division. Returns are due by March 31. The saving clause preserves penalties for unpaid 1942 income tax, and the form aids accrual computations, depreciation, and inventory. Bottum forecasts more returns than any year since the tax law began, though payments may be smaller due to rate reductions and higher deductions.
