University of South Dakota debaters won two of three in southern debates with Missouri and Arkansas, defeated by Nebraska in a non decision, and lost to William Jewell at Liberty. Bartivirs team and women’s squad also competed at Augustana and South Dakota State College events in Vermillion and Brookings.

A demonstration Making Clothes Fit was given by Mrs House with help from Mrs Pigney. A Shoes and Feet demonstration will be at Nolan home in April. County Agent N F Nelson will present a home beautification demonstration March 24 at the A O U W hall, open to the public.

Vermillion university honors announce four first year women at the University of South Dakota for high averages and required course loads. Inductees are Marjorie Myer Huyck, Ann Hasselstrom, Cleo Olson Henry, and Eleanor Utley Sioux Falls. Wholesale Farming Trial At Madison Farm Venture
The Nye Jenks Grain company of Nebraska plans a 700 acre wholesale farming venture near Madison Nebraska marking the first of its kind in the area. John Benk is named farm manager four miles south of Madison with the plot to grow grain and sweet clover and add stock next year. All 1931 crop will be stored on site for feed. Fencing with woven wire will begin soon as the company, which operates 70 elevators 69 lumber yards and 16 hardware stores, tests modern farming machinery in this experimental project.
