Nile Cochran of Moville Iowa faces murder charges in a highway gun battle that wounded Frank Markell and killed his father. Bridge Olympic To Be Conducted Here This May
The second annual World Bridge Olympic will be held in Huron on May 1 with local captain Mrs. Chester N. White directing. More than 100,000 players in 42 countries are expected to participate. sixteen players have signed up locally, with at least eight tables planned in the Hotel Marvin Bughitt dining room starting at 8 p.m. All players will use the same 16 hands prepared by a committee of internationally known bridge experts. Mrs. White also competed in the first Olympic in Kansas City last year.

Two Are Sentenced for Poultry Thefts in Luverne
In Luverne Minnesota on March 2 Frank Schroer and Ferdinand Pachell pled guilty to hog and chicken thefts in Nobles county. They were sentenced to one to ten years in state prison. Officers said the pair robbed Farm-Lerg Investment of Fulda of 300 dollars and kidnapped taxi driver Wayne Sutherland in Sioux City on the same day. A separate item notes North Dakota foreclosures or execution sales of livestock and other farm property prohibited by a proclamation from Gov. William Langer.
