Farmers Union suit challenges deduction of use tax from gasoline funds
In South Dakota the Farmers Union led by John Skage seeks court ruling on whether the two percent use tax may not be deducted from funds used for highway gasoline purposes. Circuit Judge L. Ker delayed final action with hearings set for March 30 before Judge Fleeger, as Assistant Attorney General D. Mintener notes further proceedings depend on those findings. Henry Wing and Jesse Kistler were plaintiffs, with Skage stating the action was sponsored by the South Dakota Farmers Union.
