Juvenile and club activities list for Labor Temple area

Juveniles of the Degree of Honor hold practice Saturday at 3 in Labor Temple. Sunday meetings include Division 213 B. of L. B. in K. P. hall and B. of L. F and B in Labor Temple at 3. Monday lists P. E. O. with Mrs. H. M. Whitman and E. P. ledge meeting. James River ledge No. 32 Odd Fellows meets 7:30. Wikoska meets 6:36 with Miss Grace Finley. A dance party at the Marvin Hughitt Hotel features Mike Gibbs orchestra and prizes for women and men. Various birthday celebrations, bridge parties, and club meetings are noted across several local homes and venues with dates and hosts.

Miller Society program and social clubs meet weekly

Thirty five guests and members of the Women’s Study club enjoyed an afternoon program including the club song America the Beautiful, vocal numbers by Marion Thomas and Keith Moncur, and a talk on the Life and Work of Edgar Allan Poe by Father Shilling with poems The Raven Bells and Annabel Lee. Gladys Thompson spoke on Exia sonny Guidance at a high school faculty gathering. John Hancock was praised at his sixth birthday party with gifts and games. Marian Collins hosted the S.O.S. club party with eight girls playing bridge and prizes for Kathleen Corcoran and Lenora Fick. Lunch followed.

St Patrick Day Club Holds Meeting And Bridge Luncheon

A St Patrick themed gathering featured a regular business meeting during the afternoon with officers elected for the coming year. President Mrs Cahalan and other officers were announced. Mrs Bohning hosted a bridge luncheon for 11 guests with green centerpieces and coordinating decor.

Suffers Paralytic Stroke Ames

Mrs. C J Peterson of north Buffalo county suffered a paralytic stroke at her home. Her daughter Mrs Layton Stebbins moved her to her home where she is receiving care. Mrs Peterson is bedfast and unable to straighten up.
