A Stafford of Buaker Petroleum Omaha spoke on confidence and integrity. local lawmakers Verschoor and Ocell outlined recent legislative actions including chain store tax support for independents.

Counties Cannot Pay Clerical Help For Federal Offices
The South Dakota attorney general's office ruled counties cannot pay salaries for clerical or stenographic staff or other employees in local offices of federal agencies partnering with counties. The opinion says counties can spend on office space supplies telephone and telegraph costs and other incidental expenses in cooperation with a federal agency.

Watertown Man Die From Accidental Monoxide Poisoning
Marvin C. Halaver, 39, was found dead in a garage at his mother Rose Hallaver's Watertown home. Coroner L. E. Mathieson ruled the death accidental and caused by carbon monoxide gas. Halaver, who worked in Sac City, Iowa, was visiting family and planned to depart for Iowa when he was found the following morning.

Gurney Pushes Sioux Falls Surplus Station Plan
