Gettysburg board of education reduced the total teachers payroll by about 25 percent for the coming year. Six of nine grade teachers and all but one high school teachers were re elected at lower salaries, with the overflow room and high school office to be discontinued. Married women will not be hired, home economics may be dropped, and two new teachers to be elected later. New yearly wages place first year at 75 dollars per month, second year at 80 dollars, third year at 85, with current salaries ranging from 9 to 10 dollars (typo likely) and coming year from 675 to 810 dollars for grades and positions.

Tripp County Court decision upheld by South Dakota Supreme Court

Eleven Killed In Automobile Mishaps In South Dakota
Pierre reports that eleven South Dakotans were killed and three injured in 60 automobile accidents in January 1933. Ten vehicles were damaged totaling 7 250 dollars. Most crashes occurred outside city limits. Nearly half involved vehicle collisions, with nine pedestrians struck. Graveling Project Resumes at Cavour
The traveling graveling project begins at Cavour with a full crew and three shifts. Eight teams per shift haul gravel from the Rudy pit to the mile of road north of the stock yards, aiming to finish this mile this month.
