Edward J. Neil reports from Leon Spain how the Lady Peace, the trans Atlantic plane used by Dick Merrill and Harry Richman, was refitted for war as a bomber project. The single motor plane, once carrying ping pong balls and cargo, now bears bombing sights and machine guns as pilots across the northern front hear of its history and seek to fly it. The ship was sold to the Spanish government for about $20,000 after passing through Richman’s hands.

New Airport Sought by Illinois Pilots Association
The Illinois Pilots Association passed a resolution urging Chicago to construct a new lake front airport for airlines and to transfer the current municipal field to private flyers.
