Brookings South Dakota reports 11,100 boys and girls enrolled in 4-H clubs, up about 1,000 from last year. Poultry leads projects with 1,221 members. other strong areas include fat lamb 828 sheep 886 handcraft 579 and corn and cane 458. Home life totals reach 5,326 girls, with meal planning 2,535 clothing 1,601 and home life 1,090.
Hitchcock Hoy Scouts led by Scoutmaster Harold White returned from Camp De Kota after an outing last week. The group included Nolg Olson Hoddie Rodman Warren Gould and Clyde Cotton Jr. They describe the trip as a very fire tikree.
Brookings reports a scholarship funded dialogue titled Opportunities in the Nations Capital to be broadcast Saturday July 2 from 10 30 to 11 00 p m central time. Kenneth Anderson South Dakota district 4 H club agent and Winifred Perry Vermont will discuss extension work in Washington after a year of study. Anderson will resume duties in Canton in September.
4 H club members and Fair City 4 Hers attended the county convention at the courthouse on Saturday. Miss Neff the home extension agent displayed garments made by members and led activities on evaluating fabrics and dress design. Lorraine Burnside and Miss Nett guided dress finishing while campers sang and a style revue offered judging on design material and pattern.
The last S. O. S. Club gathering was held Saturday night at the Hedlund home. President Carrine Hedlund called the meeting to order while leader Jane Hedlund demonstrated how to make and finish seams on undergarments.

Sakakawea Girl Scout Troop 7 met Monday afternoon for a picnic at Riverside Park. After games the group planned next week’s meeting for Tuesday and planned a swim at Ravine Lake at 3 o'clock. The report was written by Phyllis Gross.
