Picnic Enjoyment Dims as Private Spots Restrict Access
The Rapid City Journal notes growing frustration over private picnicking areas near Huron. Readers describe a secluded grove 15 miles from Rapid City on the Hill City road with shade, a cliff, a creek, pines, and space for several families. Fishermen, children, and squirrels enjoyed the site, while locals hope for a future James River dam creating a large lake to enhance outdoor recreation.
