Rainstorms Hit Most Of State In South Dakota

Heavy rain drenched east central and northeast South Dakota with Brookings at 2.40 inches the top total. Huron 0.89, Watertown 0.83, Aberdeen 0.81, Ashley 1.12. Smaller totals in Lemmon 0.25, Bowman 0.12, Sioux Falls 0.11. A severe thunderstorm near Milo Harms farm northwest of Willow Lake killed three cows and a hog as 3.25 inches fell in about an hour before midnight. Crops and rough land suffered some wash damage. strong winds reported but no wind damage noted.
