Experiment With Test Tube Calves
Lincoln Nebraska June 7 two University of Nebraska dairy scientists reported Tuesday 62 attempts at artificial reproduction of cattle resulted in conceptions in recent experiments. Demonstrating their method before the American Dairy Science Convention the experimenters H P Davis and George W Trimberger said only five of the cows used failed to conceive. Two cows had two test tube calves each and the others one each. They noted artificial insemination has been used with horses but difficulties in obtaining semen and keeping sperm viable away from the cow limit cattle use.
