Plan Uses 600 Horses In Sturgis Show

More than 500 soldiers and 600 horses will take part in the Military Horse Show sponsored by the Fourth U S Cavalry of Ft. Meade June 21 22 and 28. The horse show will feature eight open classes plus events like Roman races Cossack riding and polo with demonstrations of troops going into camp and machine gun actions. Reports indicate fine horse strings from Hot Springs Pierre Chamberlain Yale Rapid City and Sheridan Wyoming will participate. Potter 4-H Livestock to Travel to State Fair

Potter county will send a carload of 4-H club livestock to the State fair in Huron. County commissioners approved a 75 dollar fund to offset expenses and eligibility will be decided at the Potter county fair next fall. About 25 to 30 youths who show outstanding animals and complete records will earn the trip, with clubs raising funds to add to the pot.

Miss Alice Luke of Mellette is named to succeed Miss Beatrice Henkes as home extension agent for the district covering Aurora Charles Mix and Brule counties. Luke teaches home economics at Letcher high school and this is her first assignment in the field. Henkes completes a second year and will move to Sioux Falls to oversee extension work in Minnehaha county.
