Dallas June 6 Texas Ranger Frank Hamer who helped kill Clyde Barrow says negotiations underway for him and M L Gault to pursue John Dillinger. He vows Dillinger will be killed, not captured, and notes his 23 years as a ranger and a reluctance to serve under Governor Ferguson.
Pierre June 6 Fifty bids on lignite coal for state institutions were tabulated. No bids came from the Hayes ND mine, now closed, as the Firesteel mine also stopped operations. Low lignite bid was 3.52 per ton by Trans-Tract Coal Co Wilton NC with heating quality used for awards in about a month. Orders remain through SD dealers. about 30,000 tons used yearly. Grand Forks June 4 Charles Rainemarch elected grand patriarch of the Odd Fellows. Washington June 6 Senator Ydings introduces a debt resolution to authorize a presidential retirement plan with a lump sum and final basis for foreign war debtors.
Tomorrow brings a milestone in Huron aviation with a 90 by 100 foot hangar at the city airport to be dedicated in ceremonies. The event coincides with word from Washington on a new air mail route from Sioux Falls to Bismarck via Huron and Aberdeen. W. L. Weir, aviation division chair, says the hangar and route will rebound local unemployment relief workers and earn civic pride. A luncheon by Kiwanis leads to a 12:45 p.m. dedicatory service, with Dr. H. L. Saylor delivering the address and Mayor E. T. Gitchell laying the cornerstone.
G F Foote a pioneer of the state and north of Yale farmer died at a local hospital after several weeks illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 30 pm at the farm home with Rev. Proper of Bancroft officiating and burial at Petrodia cemetery near Carpenter. Survived by five sons Dan Bath Michigan Cleo Hill City Reuel Bancroft Glenn Burr Yale and one daughter Beulah Yale.

South Dakota greets Secretary of Agriculture Henry A Wallace with a permanent welcome. A copy of today's Evening Huronite will be placed in the corner stone of the new municipal airport hangar during a 12:45 ceremony tomorrow. Copies will also be given to Wallace and party, Gov. Tom Berry and relief officials at Pierre, and mailed to drought state senators and representatives in Washington.
Beadle County clerk of courts S P Glanzer clarifies that only the vital statistics registrar or deputy can issue a death certificate when no physician is in attendance. Glanzer identifies himself as registrar and cites his deputy Mrs Leona Heckman as the alternate.
Pierre June 6 Secretary Wallace told stockmen the government cattle buying program can turn drought calamity into a future blessing by removing six to seven million head of undesirable cattle. He called the plan eminently wise and fair as bankers prepared resolutions opposing it for mortgage holders. Wallace planned a Bis marck broadcast at 7 p m after brief visit with Gov Berry and cattlemen.
Representatives of major meat packing concerns asked Hugh Johnson for a longer work week in their plants to speed cattle slaughter during a drought emergency. They cited Harry Hopkins urging rapid action to save thousands of drought doomed cattle, with Johnson deferring to Edward F. McGrady to consult the labor advisory board. Chinese restaurants exceed nearly all other foreign eating places in New York.
Washington reports a shift in federal drought relief toward paying jobs for farmers rather than cash doles. Hopkins outlined a plan for a $525 million package, with wage scales up to a state-determined level and diverse funding for work, livestock, feed and seed loans, and land purchase. The effort targets 200,000 drought families by week’s end, 150,000 already earning a living through work projects, amid calls for flexibility in funding allocations.
Two Minnesota national guardsmen Donald Winkler and John Egan were wounded late Tuesday while patrolling a bridge over the hed river to enforce Governor Olson s cattle embargo. They are in a Moorhead hospital in not serious condition. Winkler discharged his pistol when removing it from a holster, the bullet piercing his left hand and ricocheting to strike Egan in the thigh.
New dry spots appeared on the nations drought map as rains reached 10 hard hit areas from Maine to New England. Farmers say showers came too late for wheat but may save corn forage crops and pastures while cooler unsettled conditions were forecast for much of the drought region. In Philadelphia, Frank Schoble Jr. a blind World War II veteran and former American Legion vice commander died at age 41.

Rain fell over much of South Dakota easing drought stress on grain fields and pastures. Observers forecast more showers tonight and tomorrow with little temperature change as readings ranged from Mitchell at .92 inches to Rapid City at .06 inches. Rain persisted at Sioux Falls Brookings Aberdeen Rapid City Watertown and Yankton.
In Sioux Falls Judge John T. Medin ruled Arnold may collect 1,262.42 bail damages from St Paul Mutual Insurance after the insurer failed to notify him of nonpayment effects on a 5,200 bail policy. The court found South Dakota statutes require such notice, and suspension for nonpayment violates state law. James Re McGee and Voorhees aided Arnold, Bailey, aid Voorheex for Jíne.
