The Office of War Information reports that 85 percent of women’s hosiery this year will be rayon with no stocking rationing planned. Quality will take precedence over sheer color variety, prices fixed by ceilings, and only five colors allowed per style. Bure Berry, former Navy All America halfback, reportedly downed two Japanese Zeros in early South Pacific flight minutes.

American troops, after taking Holtz Bay area, noted right hand drive trucks with clever gear, abandoned vehicles and a large supply of food and ammo. The field required five days of modern engineering to be flight ready and had been built despite harsh terrain and minimal protection.
