In Chicago on July 23 an anonymous caller identifying as Sitting Buck claimed to be the world’s champion tree sitter. He demanded correct spelling of his name and insisted the public should know how long he sat in a tree. Earlier police cut limbs to force a 12 year old to descend.

Jefferson Wins Playground Cup at City Pageant

More than 1,000 Huronians watched Jefferson school's group directed by Josephine Stevenson win first place in the annual pageant climax. Children wore garden themed costumes with roses violets daisies lilies butterflies bees frogs owls and spiders. Lincoln Washington Wilson and Mek Kintey schools also staged scenes under directors Katherine Small Juanita Murphy Maxine Bryant and Lela Steele. The event closed Huron's supervised playground year for 600 children under Mrs. Harry Liem with support from the Chamber of Commerce Education and Recreation division led by Leon Temmey and the Huron park board.

Final accounting ends packing plant case in court

Final accounting of the Farmers Co operative Packing Company, builder of the plant now used by Armour and Company, was approved this morning by Circuit Judge Alva E. Taylor. The final sale proceeds total 9046.04 dollars, to be distributed among holders of 10.54 shares, boosting total dividends to 39 percent after two prior payments. this distribution closes the defunct company’s affairs.

Child Herman Wipf Dies From Tetanus Near Deland

Seven-year-old Herman Wipf, son of Elias Wipf from ten miles south of Deland, died of tetanus at a Huron hospital this morning around nine. He had been ill only a few days. Burial will be Sunday afternoon at the country church near his home.

Aberdeen authorities hunt 16 year old Mary Atanasau missing since Wednesday night from her home. Described as five feet four inches, dark complexion and eyes, straight dark hair with a scar under her lower jaw. No reason for disappearance given.

Grant County Fair Halted By Injunction Move

Four-car Krug park coaster crash kills three at Omaha

In Omaha four cars of a heavy roller coaster toppled from a 35 foot incline at Krug park. Four persons died and nineteen injured, three critically. Victims include C. H. Dr C L Halli Assumes Inspection Post in Huron
