Gov Jensen said A W Eberle of Brookings, overseeing the state poisoning campaign, said a federal expert will arrive tonight or tomorrow and head to the northern Black Hills area where insects are entering from Wyoming. Eberle expects more federal funds to fight crickets harming grain and gardens and proposed iron fences 14 to 18 feet high with top curves to stop the invaders, as crickets cannot scale and would fall into dug ditches for drenching.

The city of Huron assumed possession of W. W. Howes Municipal Airport after completion of work on the $100000 WPA project. The administration building houses a waiting room café rest room and business office. First floor furnishings were funded by the Huron American Legion Auxiliary. The second floor provides living quarters for the airport manager and space for weather equipment. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Nevilla who oversee the airport will reside in the new facilities. First Assistant Postmaster General W W Howes toured the site during the opening and prepared to continue his trip to Rapid City for the Young Democrats state convention. The 11 WPA workers are set to finish the project after the port’s operations begin.

Senate Overrides Roosevelt Veto On Farm Loan Extension
