Arlington Youth Hurt In Accident In Tracy

Paul Kurtz 16, son of Rev and Mrs Earl Kurtz of Arlington, left in critical condition at Tracy hospital after a truck from a Boy Scout camp overturned on the return trip from Lake Chetek. He suffered a brain concussion and was pinned beneath the vehicle for about an hour while his companion escaped unharmed.

Fire in Hospital Cupola Quenched Quickly

A fire broke out at 2 a.m. today in the cupola of the administration building at the state hospital in Anton, D. The blaze was confined to the cupola and the rooms beneath it, suffering water damage but no major structural loss. Dr. G. B. Adams, superintendent, said damage was limited to the cupola area.

Red Cross Expert To Speak At County Relief Meeting

Redfield Man to Lead Senate Stock Exchange Probe

James M. Stewart of Redfield named to head a Senate Banking Committee sub committee in Washington to probe the New York stock exchange this summer. Norbeck says federal legislation may be needed to curb abuses. hearings will be held as needed while gathering evidence for Congress. Stewart, a World War veteran and South Dakota native, has ties to the Norbeck interests and is described as a “go-getter” ready to clean up misused corporate finance practices.
