Trials of McCall At Deadwood Stir Local Whiskers Club
In Deadwood on July 17 a mock trial of Jack McCall drew a rowdy crowd. Calamity Jane testified against McCall while Col May pressed for federal charges. The whimsical show, staged by the Days of Gh Whiskers club, mocked the 1876 Wild Bill Hickok shooting as part of preparations for a local festival parade.
