Post master E H Bruemmer at Huron promotes airmail for speedy nationwide delivery. A letter weighing an ounce or less costs six cents with an airmail stamp. ordinary stamps allowed if marked Air Mail. Daily planes operate including Sundays while train dispatches on Sundays are limited due to curtailment of Sunny service.
Weather data shows temperatures from 74 to 79 degrees with unsettled conditions. Forecasts for South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota predict unsettled tonight and Tuesday with possible scattered thunderstorms and a warming trend in the northeast and near the Twin Cities.
Aberdean and surrounding cities report mostly good roads with cloudy to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures range from the mid 30s to mid 80s with scattered precipitation noted in several stations. A note places about 6,000 births at sea, including 4,200 in London.
Dr. Lawrence Betts of Huron and Dr. Gordon Betts of Sturgis travel to Kansas City for Mrs Betts parents visit and to Wichita for the American Osteopathic Society and American Osteopathic Association conventions. They plan a two week return. Several other locals make visits or travel, including Miss Bernice Orcutt, Mr. and Mrs. Myers, and families attending trips to Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, and California.
Land Melvin of Kitchcock visited Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Clair R Gascaigre. Mrs Lucille Sparks returned this morning from Aberdeen where she spent the weekend with her parents. Maurice Gawdy went to Lake Enemy Swim Saturday night for seven Boy Scouts who attended the camp there. They returned home last night Miss Frances Mary Moyer of St Paul.
The notice notes a two week visit by a guest with Miss Jeannette Gamon who then left for her home Saturday night. Mrs. Frank Blume and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Scotter traveled to Chamberlain yesterday to visit Mr. Blume, injured in an airplane crash there Saturday morning, with reports he is improving and will be home soon.
