Redfield Navy Man Fights Giant Snake in Brazilian Jungle
Kenneth A. Dahl, a navy machinist second class stationed near Belem Brazil, shot a huge boa constrictor in a dark service area after it lunged from a corner. The snake lashed, toppled equipment, and was about 17 feet long with a 14 inch diameter. Dahl, visiting his wife Mary, recalled jungle dangers beyond snakes including ferocious insects and malaria mosquitos.
