Campaign For Cut Moves To Kansas
Secretary Hyde and Federal Farm Board chairman Legge lead an educational drive through Kansas urging wheat acreage and production cuts. In Dodge City the 11,735,000 acre crop breaks the old 1919 record, while Governor Reed opposes cuts and calls for buyback of 25,000,000 bushels or more to lift depressed prices. The campaign follows earlier stops in hard wheat areas as debate over farm policy intensifies.
