James Matthew Farrell born April 6 1877 at Flatte Center Nebraska later moved to Mumpheey Nebraska then South Dakota on a Grindstone Community farm near Cavour and Philip. He married Agnes Boye February 22 1911 and raised two boys as their own. He died July 4 1937 in St Marys Hospital Pierre. funeral in St Patricks Cemetery with services led by Rev Fathers O Connor Carrol and Martin. He was known as honest neighbor with sound judgment and devout Christian faith.
