The Fiftieth Anniversary celebration of Central South Dakota in Huron netted about $5,000 after three hot days of events. Expenses matched receipts. final tallies were not ready until later today. Esther Brekke won the grand prize a Chevrolet coach by selling tickets with 217000 votes.
James Bates and Raymond Fetherhoff of Huron were bound over to the circuit court on $200 bonds after waiving preliminary hearing in municipal court before Judge Dick Haney on charges of transporting intoxicating liquor. About three quarts of alcohol were found in the car they driven. James Byrnes of Byrnes and Markey represented the defendants, while W. W. Howes, the state’s attorney, represented the state.
