New School Laws Shape South Dakota Education
Nearly a dozen new statutes affect public schools in South Dakota, with two major measures easing small school closures and guiding aid from a new net income and retail sales tax. Other changes include transport aid limits, county superintendents’ reporting, alien worker prohibitions, and a 20-year school fund plan for counties. A separate item notes a robbery at Letcher express office with a broken safe and minimal losses.
