Sale of packing plant to Armour seen as big event
The 1925 sale of the Farmers Co-Operative Packing plant at Huron to Armour and Company for 751000 is hailed as a decade making move. The plant, idle for years, would create local employment, expand meat production, and strengthen the livestock market, with about 100 workers year round and equipment valued at about 1 million dollars.
