University of South Dakota Announces Spring Music Festival
Vermillion January 14 Special The University of South Dakota through its College of Music plans a spring musical festival replacing the state high school music contest. Dates are pending and high school artists from across the state will participate. District contest winners will be invited to attend and assist in programs. The state high school band contest will coincide to select a South Dakota representative for the national contest.

Huron Churches Invest Heavily Since 1925
A five year survey shows more than 225000 spent by Huron churches on buildings and improvements. The American Lota era led with a 360000 church. Mt Calvary Lutheran spent 31500 on a building. First Church of Christ and First PresbyterianAlso invested, while repairs near 30000 and an organ purchase brought figures to about 40000. Four new churches were added, reorganizations expanded societies, and debt payments topped 35000 at the Methodist church.
