Funeral Thursday for Mrs Cortin in Miller
Funeral rites will be held Thursday at the Methodist Church for Mrs Gretje Cortin who died Tuesday at Miller hospital where she had been a patient since New Year’s day. Born near Hage East Friesland Germany she immigrated to the United States at 21 and lived in Audubon Indiana before moving to Hand County. She had lived in Miller 43 years and was married to Robert Cortin in 1896 who died last June. Surviving are three children George of Lane Paty Miller and Mrs Elizabeth of Miller two brothers three sisters and four grandchildren. Burial will be in G A Run Cemetery.

Government sues on resettlement loan in federal court
Minneapolis January 11 federal government filed the first suit in the district to recover a Resettlement Administration loan. It seeks $250 loaned to Albert Anderson and son Orval of St Francis Minnesota in April 1936 with repayment due in two installments of $125 each in March 1937 and March 1938 plus five percent interest. The government alleges the Andersons paid only $10 in interest.
