Mona de Musset and a dramatic voyage ending with love
Ashoreth recalls Mona de Musset aboard a Caribbean cruise, recounting Mona’s romance with Jack Smythe, a fatal hemorrhage, and Mona’s defiant courage. Aboard Dominica and Antigua, Ashoreth meets Mr Hart who comforts her, reflecting on Mona’s legend and Edna St. Vincent Millay's candle verse.
