Community Notes From Wayland and Surrounds

Wayland and Schaick left Saturday for Par tris to attend the funeral of his sister in law. Mrs. Vain Schaisk’s parents and a sister Iraty Pieris accompanied him. Mrs. Margaret Douglas Schmit of Mitchell, visiting her mother Mrs. C P Douglas, was guest of honor at a party Monday night hosted by Mrs. W J Hart and Mrs. Grant Byers, with twenty five guests and a lunch. A progressive whist party at the community hall drew many from Burdette and nearby. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson of Fedora visited with her parents on Sunday. George McCormack Flor d Winegar and daughter Antoinette drove to Timber Lake on business Monday. Miss Rose Keiser returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Fisher plan to move to the old Sorenson farm four miles northwest of town next week. Eva McGuire, recovering from an infection in her hand, is improving. L J Borkhuis and wife were in Watertown on business Tuesday.
