State appropriations bill clears House on party lines
In Pierre on Feb 24 the South Dakota House passed a state institute fund measure 45 to 25. Rep. Kretschmar argued it would curb the state superintendent and halt raids on federal funds, while opponents framed it as a crusade against Hines. A companion bill to place the fund under four teachers was deferred.
