Edward J. Neil reports that seasonal rains threaten Italy's northern front in Ethiopia, slowing road work and supply moves through March to September. He notes Graziani's defensive stance may shift south when rains ease, with Somaliland and Ogaden fronts clearing mid-year, influencing the overall campaign strategy.

Science Finds Silver Turns Transparent at Near Absolute Zero
Pasadena, Feb. 20 AP Dr Alexander Goetz at California Institute of Technology reports a silver film cooled near absolute zero becomes transparent as atoms slow to a crawl and lose metallic bonds. The film, normally opaque, shows a dust like appearance as electrons fail to move freely and no continuous current can pass. This reveals solid matter existing in vast spaces at extreme low temperatures.
