Members of the J F F Club met at Mrs Nylan Nelsons for a February gathering with a dessert luncheon on a patriotic themed long table. Study Clubs To Give Joint Benefit Tea

The Twentieth Century Study Club and the Fortnightly Study Club host a joint benefit silver tea on Wednesday February 21 at the college dormitory at 2 30 pm. Campus Players will perform scenes from Our Town with special music and a talk by Dr Towner on the women s board plan. A dormitory tour will follow led by the dormitory girls.

Pilot Whose Premonition Foresaw Tragedy Killed

Monterey Minnesota February 15 1925 Pilot Melvin Marple aged 27 died in a test flight after his foreseen danger. He refused to take off for three days and at last left the house with owner Percy Jose of the ship shortly before the crash. His landIng field slip caused the fatal accident. Mrs Lily Hubers who housed him disclosed the pilot’s eerie premonition.

Little Flower Band Members Entertain at Meeting

Mrs Frank Coffey Mrs Hoy Miller and Mrs Guy Oviain hosted the Little Flower Band members. Meyer presided over the Tuesday gathering with minutes read by Mrs Oscar Rekkun and Mrs Thomas Cocking. Contract bridge was played at three tables with prizes awarded to Mrs Joe Lantgen high, Mrs Clifford Thompson all cut, and Mrs Phil Kobrigger hundred honor. Guest Rafal Hohenthauer attended. Next meeting set for February 27 at Mrs Harold Osborn's home.

Church hosts rabbit hunt to fund Ebenezer church

Members of the Ebenezer German Baptist Church held a rabbit hunt Saturday morning. A luncheon was served in the church basement by the women of the congregation. Proceeds from the hunt will be turned over to the church treasury.

Barry Piner state game warden gave an illustrated talk at Blunt School on conservation work by beavers damming streams and the methods of trapping fire animals for relocation to other sites.

Turtle Creek Grange Formed

A new unit of the National Grange was organized in Nance Township at the Tipton School. The Turtle Creek Grange elected T. J. Gravit master and named officers including Walter Brachvoge overseer and Mrs. Aeron Orr lecturer. The Feb 21 meeting will cover ritual instruction. Plans were made to attend the Grange rally in Beadlz and Handgenes in Huron Friday.

Huron and Wessington Youths Enlist in Navy

Huron and Wessington youths Niebrugge and Geiver enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Wednesday, per C. D. Sharpe. They were sent to the Great Lakes training station in Illinois for two months of preliminary training before assignment to a ship of the fleet.
