On February 15 1866 H H Cable of Hudson born in Iowa. 1901 Gilbert A Pierce territorial governor died in Chicago. In 1917 Governor Norbeck signed a law buying the Verendrye plate found at Fort Pierre in 1913. Home Extension agents answered 19969 letters. 4153 by state specialists. 24122 homemaking problems were partly solved. Bulletins on homemaking topics distributed 181108. Changes from the program reached 11113 farm homes and 5535 village homes, an estimated 45038 farm families influenced, plus 8004 other families.

Miller Women Have Program On England
The Miller Women’s Club met at the city auditorium with president Mrs. C. P. Corcoran presiding. A program on The Religion of England by Mrs. Worley Andrews was read in her absence by Mrs. Odin Shroyer, followed by Architecture of England by Mrs. J. A. Haverstock. A vocal item I Love a Little Cottage was performed by Mrs. J. A. Redmond, Mrs. A. D. Fitzgerald, and Mrs. M. W. Pang burn, with piano by Mrs. M. W. Wiseman. The club voted to assist the Red Cross in garment making for Finnish relief.

Bushfield To Speak At St. Lawrence PTA

Clover Leaf Club Of Lane Holds Meeting
The Clover Leaf Home Extension Club met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. N. M Clark with Mrs. M. W. Syring as assisting hostess. Fifteen members attended with three guests. The group discussed'avenir bulletin topics, sang for Lincoln's birthday and Valentine’s day, and shared reflections on farm family outlook and energy from rice and potatoes. A rice sausage dish was served.

Nurses' Examining Board Sets March Meeting in Pierre
The South Dakota state nurses' examining board will meet in Pierre in the house chamber of the capitol on March 14 and 15. Carrie A. Benham of Mitchell, director of nursing education for the State Nurses' Association, announced that examinations will be given for state nurses, with registrations and reciprocity approvals. All data must reach the Mitchell office of the examining board before March 1.
