Auto Crash Kills Milford Schroeder Two Injured Near Huron
A Ford coupe skidded on a slippery road nine miles south of Huron and crashed into a high concrete abutment. Milford Schroeder 21 died from a broken neck while Bogene Dickinson 20 of Mitchell suffered multiple fractures and serious injuries. Kenneth Tobin 19 escaped with lip cuts. The victims were returning from a fair trip to Mitchell with Miss Dickinson a rural school teacher. Funeral services for Schroeder planned at the local Methodist church.

Funeral services for George E. Sherman prominent Huron druggist who died yesterday will be held Sunday at 2 30 PM at the Presbyterian church. Burial will follow at Riverside cemetery with Huron Masonic Judge assisting and Rev. Hubert Ketelle officiating. Sherman 47 a native of Miner county held multiple offices including vice president of National Retail Druggists association president of South Dakota Board of Pharmacy and vice president of the Huron Chamber of Commerce. He leaves a widow and son Lloyd along with parents and several siblings and relatives from South Dakota. Intimate pallbearers include local businessmen and doctors. Mr Sherman studied in Howard and Miner county then at Augs tana College Sioux Falls and the University of Des Moines. He started in Canton and Sioux Falls before moving to Huron to run Sherman Moe drug store and later Corner Drug. He was state president of the South Dakota Druggists association and held board and national pharmacy posts. The community early and widely mourns his loss as many Miner county friends plan to attend.

Large Hay Shipments Planned To Aid Huron Farmers
The Huron Chamber of Commerce agricultural division with local elevators and Beadle county banks arranged large hay shipments from Minnesota to Huron. Three carloads were loaded with about five more to follow to feed Beadle county farmers facing shortages. The Farmers Co-Operative elevator will handle initial shipments. later the Huron Grain and Coal company will take over. The chamber borrowed $1,000 to assist farmers without nearby elevators, to be repaid as feed is sold.
