Farm Tenancy In South Dakota Post War Price Rise
Brookings Feb 4 The South Dakota State College agricultural department reports that farm tenancy is a national issue with 72.1 percent of 23 leases for one year and few renewals. Debt, inflated land prices, foreclosures and low farm incomes after 1920, plus drought, pushed land ownership instability. Lundy urges longer tenures for good tenants and possible protective laws, plus refinancing and cautious land purchases to stabilize income and prices.
