Seek Low Phone Rates On Sunday

The Dakota Central Telephone company and other Bell System firms filed with the FCC in Washington on December 16 to extend the night discount for long distance station to station calls across states to run from 7 p.m. Saturday to 4:41 a.m. Monday, effectively all daytime Sunday. They also sought a night and Sunday discount for person to person interstate calls, matching the station to station discount, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly and all day Sunday, with both changes slated to take effect January 15, 1936. The plan aims to boost Sunday long distance use by offering continuous discounts and accommodating customers seeking specific contacts.
