Stock Shipments Smaller In 1930 Forecasts For Market Supply
BROOKINGS Dec 18 Stocker and feeder cattle shipments into 11 corn belt states were smaller in 1930 than in 1929, with Nebraska up 20 percent and South Dakota and Minnesota showing small gains. Five month total July to November was 10 percent below the five year average and 180000 head under 1923. Cattle feeding in western states expected to be lower this winter, with calves composing a large share of total, reducing fed cattle available for market in early 1931. Lamb feeding also declined, statewide in December. Far western Colorado and Nebraska saw the sharpest drops. analysts predict similar or reduced fed lambs February–April 1931 without heavy movement to western feed yards.

Paving Request For Third Street South In Huron SD
Beadle county and Huron city boards petition the State Highway Commission to designate Third Street South as a paving project. The unpaved residence street lies along Federal Highway No 14 and carries heavy east west traffic, with 69 foot paving proposed and 30 foot streets in similar areas cited as precedent. The change would shift paving burdens from public traffic to local property owners.
