Former County Treasurer Sentenced for Embezzlement Case

RAPID CITY, Dec. 14. George H. Wolfe, former Lawrence County treasurer, was sentenced to six years in the state penitentiary at Sioux Falls by Judge John F. Hughes after a jury found him guilty of embezzlement. The verdict followed closing arguments and a late-night jury deliberation.

Foresbburg P T A Regular Meeting Draws Program

The Foresbburg P T A held a regular meeting with a business session and a full program. The membership report awarded prizes in the membership contests to the seventh and eighth grade team. A variety of performances followed including recitations, songs, a pantomime, and two sermons. The Boy Scout ceremony, music by the high school glee club, and a piano rendition complemented the program. A article from Mrs Farnam on child welfare was read. The program closed with school band selections and lunch served by the committee.
